Brevity Updates March 2023

This article highlights the features updates made to the Brevity Plan Management Module as part of our March/April 2023 update.

New Mobile App Version

Please note we will be deploying a minor version update for the mobile app. There are a few improvements and new features as follows. We have been careful not to make any major changes to reduce the need for staff retraining:

  1. Added ability to record shift related expenses e.g. parking, meals (see below)

  2. New scheduled client alert notifications e.g. birthday alert, new support plan (see below)

  3. Support for multiple sessions within a group shifts

  4. Security, stability and performance improvements

  5. Cosmetic improvements

Client Alerts

A new Client Alert section has been added to the client profile that allows for timeboxed alerts to be set. This ensures any changes can be alerted to support workers on their roster. You can set as many alerts as needed and also with when these are to show - they will be displayed for 7 days from the alert date.

This will be highlighted to Support Workers via the mobile app.

Mobile App Expense Management

We have reenabled and improved the expenses feature within the mobile app. This allows support workers to record expenses such as parking or meals via the mobile app.

Expense options must be configured within Brevity and allocated within the client’s funding before these can be recorded via the mobile app.

To setup expenses that can be recorded via the mobile, you will need to add a service type of type ‘Expense’ and enable the ‘Care Worker Management’ option (set to yes). We recommend that you search for an existing service type using the line item number and use the copy button to create a copy, that you can rename modify to have these settings.

It is recommended to link the Expense type to the client’s funding so it gets invoiced with the shift:

Support Workers will be able to use these to record expenses via the mobile app:

This can be added for all clients on the shift along with a description (to be shown on the invoice) and amount:

Support Coordination Live Budget Sync

We have enabled for all clients the Support Coordination budget sync. This will import the plan budgets for a participant via the NDIS API as well as sync the current balances of the plan. Please note that functionality requires the NDIS API to be enabled within your instance.

Before you are able to sync the budgets, you will need to have an active Standard Service Booking for either 07_002_0106_8_3 or 07_004_0132_8_3. You will also need to request the participant to consent to your organisation having access to their budgets via their participant portal.

The budgets can be synced in Brevity core via the Care Management > Support Coordination…

Budgets will also automatically refresh via the portal. You will be able to see the current category balance in the “Live Balance” field. There will also be a notification as to when the budgets were last refreshed.

Travel Alert

We have added an alert to the Schedule Board that will notify you if there is insufficient travel time planned between shifts. This will be shown on the schedule board if detected...

Estimated travel also shown within the mobile app…
