Registering for NDIS API Access

Please note that this feature is currently only available within the plan management module

This guide will help you through the steps required to register and enable NDIS API access within your Brevity system.

Enabling the NDIS API feature

The NDIS API integration can be enabled via the Setting area within Brevity. This is available to users with the Admin role and is available by clicking on your name in the top right, and selecting the Settings option within the pop-up menu.

On the Settings page, select the Integrations tab, then click the Configure button next to the NDIS API option to complete the steps required for activation.

Step 1: Register Device

There are two government departments we need to work with to enabled API access. The first is Services Australia who managed the IT infrastructure for the NDIS. For this there is a requirement to set up a Device in PRODA that will allow us to connect your provider portal via the API - this only needs to be done once and will need to be completed by a company director. There is a link within this step that will give you detailed instructions on how to set up the device set up and activate the device.

Step 2: Submit Activation Request

The next step is to submit a request for NDIS to link the device you created in Step 1 to your provider portal. This requires a form to be submitted that is signed by an authorised company representative as well as a Brevity representative. To simply this we have added a built in form on the registration page for this purpose. Please complete and submit the request form for NDIS to review the request and action the linking of the device to your provider portal.

Step 3: Configuring your App access

This step will be completed by Brevity technicians. Once NDIS has approved the request and completed the link they will advise us the unique identifier they have allocated for the link. Brevity technician will they set up a unique app within our NDIS developer portal and allocate the app to your instance. The technical contact you nominate during the registration will be notified once all the required steps have been completed and the API is ready to be used.
