Configuring Gmail SMTP Server in Brevity
If you use Google Workspace as your email provider, you should complete the setup below to allow Brevity to relay via your account. This setup will allow you to send emails for email addresses for all accepted domains within your Google Workspace account. These are advanced configuration and is best done by an IT professional.

Configure an SPF record
You need to tell Google Workspace (and the internet) that Brevity is allowed to send emails on your behalf. The way to do this is by configuring an SPF record for your domain. Below is an example of an SPF txt record that must be added:
v=spf1 a:your_instance.brevity.com.au -all
Skipping this step might cause emails to be rejected by Google Workspace or be sent to recipients' junk mail folder.
Allow Brevity Server to Relay
- Sign in to your Google Admin console. You must sign in using an administrator account that has permissions to make changes to your account.
- In the Admin console, go to Menu AppsGoogle WorkspaceGmailRouting.
You can add, edit, and delete the SMTP relay service setting at the top-level organization only. You can view the setting at the child organizational unit level.
- Scroll to SMTP relay service and click Configure. If the setting is already configured, click Edit or Add another.
Complete with the following settings:
Setting options What to do Allowed senders Choose option: Only addresses in my domains—Sender doesn't have to be a Google Workspace user, but must be a user in one of your registered domains. This option is useful when you use third-party or custom applications to send messages. Authentication Check the following box to set an authentication method: Only accept mail from the specified IP addresses—System accepts only messages sent from IP addresses that you specify. 1. Click Add. 2. Enter 'Brevity' as the description and the IP address 52.63.199.195 3. Check the Enable box to enable the IP address 4. Click Save. Encryption Check the Require TLS encryption box. - Click Save.
