Allocated Support Workers

This page guides you through the process of allocating a support worker to a client profile, managing that allocation, and assigning the support worker to a scheduled service.

Introduction

The client record includes a feature that allows you to assign one or more preferred support workers to a client profile. This allocation supports the client’s right to choice — for example, a client may request support workers who are male, reside in the same area, or speak a particular language.

Brevity Self Service Portal

For clients using the Brevity Self-Service Portal, ensure your support coordinators and allied health professionals have been assigned to their preferred clients. This will ensure the client’s information is available through the portal.


Allocating a Support Worker to a client

To allocate a support professional to a client, observe the following steps:

  1. Select the Clients>Clients sub-menu to open the Client List page in the browser.

  2. Search for the Client record from within the Client list.

  3. Highlight the Client record to be edited.

  4. Either click the edit button or double-click the Client record to open it in the Client form.

  5. Click the Link Record icon to open a search field.

  6. Input the support workers name and select from the matching name(s) listed within the drop down list.

  7. The Care Workers data grid will update with the particulars of the selected support worker.

  8. Select the Save button


Allocating multiple Support Workers to a client

To allocate multiple support professionals to a client, observe the following steps:

  1. Select the Clients>Clients sub-menu to open the Client List page in the browser.

  2. Search for the Client record from within the Client list.

  3. Highlight the Client record to be edited.

  4. Either click on the edit button or double-click on the Client record to open it within the Client form.

  5. Click the Link Record icon to open a search field.

  6. From the drop-down list, select the Advanced Search icon to open the Find screen within the browser.

  7. To multi-select support workers that will be assigned to the client, hold the CTRL key and select the required records.

  8. Click the SELECT button to update the Care Workers data grid with the particulars of the selected support worker.

  9. Select the Save button.


Removing a Support Worker from a client

To remove a support professional from the Care Worker data grid, slide the horizontal slide bar to the right and select the Remove Link Button that corresponds to the worker. The data grid will automatically refresh.


Assigning a Support Worker to a Scheduled Service

When allocating a support professional to a client service, either through the schedule board or the service schedule, Brevity recommends that you allocate staff through the Select Staff page, and that the staff type field be set to “Client Assigned”, to ensure that only client-assigned support professionals are listed for service allocation.
