MYOB data sync:

You can connect your MYOB account with Brevity to bring in your existing customer and

employees data from MYOB to Brevity, process it, and sync back to MYOB. You can sync your

MYOB account with Customers, employees, their invoices and timesheets.


Follow the step by step guide to connect to your MYOB account

and sync data:

1.In Brevity go to System setup from the top navigation menu.   menu.


2. Click Manage and select MYOB mapping from the top menu.

3. Click Change/update credentials in MYOB mappings screen

4. Getting the Customer and Secret key from your MYOB account:

a. Go to https://my.myob.com.au/

b. Sign in with your credentials

c. From the top navigation menu, click developer menu link



e. Fill in all the required information for the new app

f. App name: any suitable name

g. Redirect URL: http://www.brevity.com.au/Account/MyobCallback

h. Click Register App button.

i. Copy the Key and Secret and add it in Brevity see above step 3 


5. Click test the credentials button in Brevity see Step 3, if the credentials and the app setup is correct, Brevity will be connected to your MYOB account and you will be shown "Credentials validated successfully" message, click save credentials.

6. To sync data to and from your MYOB account, there are predefined templates you can use so that the entity data is saved in correct tables and fields of your choice.

7. Select Client from the Mappings dropdown list and click View/Change mappings.

8. You will be shown an existing mappings for syncing Brevity Clients to MYOB Contact. Customer entity.

11. Steps to setup mew mapping

a. Select primary entity from the dropdown list (e)

b. Select system entity (b), you will see that its fields will be auto populated in (d) dropdowns

c. Map MYOB entity fields with Brevity entity fields (c) →(d), select appropriate fields from the list, also note that fields marked with * are mandatory, while others can be skipped.

d. If for any reason you are not able to map Brevity fields to MYOB field, then there is optional static input field present besides (d), you can enter/select your static value and that will be used when data is synced.

e. Key fields acts as primary fields that determine uniqueness of the records while the data is synced so that there are no duplicate records in the system, these key fields are used to determine whether to update or insert record while the data is synced to/from MYOB.

f. Save the mappings once all the fields are mapped.

g. You can anytime come to this section to modify the entity mappings.

12. Go to front end website to sync data to MYOB.

13. Select Sync MYOB from the Administration menu.

15. Select to MYOB radio button  if you want to sync Brevity data to MYOB or select from MYOB radio button if you want to sync data from MYOB.

16. Select all the mapped entities from the list which needs to be synced.

17. Click continue to see the data preview.

19. All the data for the selected entities are shown in tabs, you can click the tabs to see the entity data.

20. If there are validation errors, then those are highlighted in red, you need to correct them before the sync otherwise those records will be skipped during the data sync.

21. Click Sync data to start with the data sync process.

22. The status of the data sync will be shown in the next screen.
