Introduction
The medications feature, allows the organisation to maintain against the client profile a summary of prescribed medications and the associated instructions on dosage and administration. The information that is maintained against the medication record is then accessible to the support worker through the shift record and view medication report.
Navigating the Client Medication record
The following is an outline of the fields that comprise the Client Medication page:
Client Profile: This is a drop down field that lists the name of client for which the medication relates.
Medication: This is a drop down field that lists the name of client for which the medication relates.
Dosage: This field is used to specify the details of the dosage strength, the frequency and occurrence that the client receives the medication.
Description: This field is used to specify a detailed narrative of the instructions on how the medication should be taken, when it should be taken, as well as any other information as provided by the clients GP or treating doctor
Creating the Client Medication record
To create a Medication record observe the following steps:
Select the Clients>Clients sub-menu to open the Client List page into the browser.
Search for the Client record from within the Client list.
Highlight the Client record to be edited.
Either click on the edit button or double click on the Client record to open it within the Client form.
Using the vertical scroll bar, slide the client page until you reach the medication panel.
Select the Add New Record icon to open the Client Medication record page within the browser
Within the Medication field select from the drop down list the relevant medication.
If you find that the required medication is not listed then a new medication can be added by selecting :+: icon located at the bottom right of the list to open the New Medication Record page, as shown below. Input the medication name, and select the applicable the unit of measure from the drop down list within the UOM field.
Select the Save button to create the New medication record and the Close button

Within the Dosage field input a details narrative related with the dosage strength, the frequency and occurrence.
Within the Instructions field input a detailed narrative related with how the medication should be taken, when it should be taken, as well as any other information as provided by the clients GP or treating doctor.
Select the SAVE button to create the note record.
Select the CLOSE button to exit back to the client record.
Editing the Client Medication record
Edits on the client medication record would be confined to either updating the particulars of the dosage or instructions. To edit a Client Medication record observe the following steps:
Select the Clients>Clients sub-menu to open the Client List page into the browser.
Search for the Client record from within the Client list.
Highlight the Client record to be edited.
Either click on the edit button or double click on the Client record to open it within the Client page.
Using the vertical scroll bar, slide the client page until you reach the medication panel.
Highlight and double click the Medication record to open it within the Client medication page within the browser.
Update the changes to the record.
Changes to the Dosage and Instructions
Click the SAVE button to update the client goal record.
Click the CLOSE button.
Deleting the Client Medication record
Although not recommended, and you are referred to the notes on record deactivation, to delete a medication record observe the following steps, off which there are two approaches available.
Deleting from the Client Goals data-grid
Select the Clients>Clients sub-menu to open the Client List page into the browser.
Search for the Client record from within the Client list.
Highlight the Client record to be edited.
Either click on the edit button or double click on the Client record to open it within the Client page.
Using the vertical scroll bar, slide the client page until you reach the medication panel.
Highlight the medication records that is to be deleted.
Select the Delete icon located to the right of the record to present a pop-up screen
Select OK to confirm the deletion. The Client Goal data-grid will automatically refresh.
Deleting from the Client Goals record
Refer to steps 1 - 5 as listed above.
From the Client medication data-grid, highlight and double click on the medication record to open the Edit Client medication record page within the browser.
Select the DELETE button from the ribbon bar
Select OK to confirm the deletion.
Select the CLOSE button to exit the page
Adjusting the Activity Status of the Client Medication record
To edit the activity status of a Client Goals record observe the following steps:
Select the Clients>Clients sub-menu to open the Client List page into the browser.
Search for the Client record from within the Client list.
Highlight the Client record to be edited.
Either click on the edit button or double click on the Client record to open it within the Client page.
Using the vertical scroll bar, slide the client page until you reach the Client Medication panel.
From the Client medication data-grid, highlight and double click on the medication record to open the Edit Client medication record page within the browser..
To deactivate the Client medication record select the Deactivate button, upon screen refresh the input fields will be disabled. The Deactivated medication record will be retained within the data-grid.
To activate the Client Medication record select the Activate button.
Once done, you can exit back to the Client profile.
Reviewing medication information through the Brevity Care Mobile app
Client medication information can be reviewed through the Brevity Care mobile app. This information is available as a prompt only. Medication to be taken is located as an item of information on the shift record. Particulars related with the dosage and instructions are available for review by clicking the View Medication Report link.
