There are some key changes coming to the SCHADS award on 1-Jul-2020 2022 that has been incorporated within Brevity. This covers two aspects of managing broken shifts - paying a minimum shift length as well as an allowance for the second and third shift within a broken shift arrangement. You must pay employees based on these new requirement from the first full payroll period on or after 1 July 2022 e.g. if you pay weekly Mon-Fri the first payroll period will start on the first Monday after 1-Jul-22 i.e. 4-Jul-22.

According to the changes, an employee required to work a broken shift with 1 unpaid break will be paid an allowance of 1.7% ($17$18.5334) of the standard rate, per broken shift and 2.25% ($23$24.2027) for 2 unpaid breaks, both for Casual and Part Time / Full Time Employee.
You should create two pay items within Xero/MYOB for the above allowances and sync these to Brevity. These will be mapped later within Brevity. We are still getting clarification if supperannuation needs to be paid for the allowance so for now we will consider this to be setup the same as sleepovers with the relevant rate assigned depending if it is the first or second shift allowance. This must be created within Xero as a OTE with Rate Type of Rate per Unit and Type of Unit as Hours as shown below for Brevity to be able to transfer these on a timesheet.
