This page provides you with both an introduction to the Brevity mobile app and an overview on how to setup user access to the app.

Introduction

The Brevity Care mobile app is available for the users of Android and iOS devices. Whether the Brevity Care mobile app user is a support worker or participant the app can be downloaded either from the Google Play Store for Android devices or the App Store for iOS devices.

Support worker features

The Brevity Care mobile app allows the support worker to:

  • Review the details of the clients profile, which subject to your organisation policies on client confidently, cam include the clients electronic contact details and street address at where the service is being delivered. The availability of client information is controlled settings maintained on the Branch record within the Brevity web application.

  • Receive notifications related with the delivery of supports and services to the client.

  • Review and complete shifts as well as review past and upcoming shifts.

  • Register new service requests

  • Prepare progress notes related with the service.

  • Register periods of leave request in full or partial days.

  • Register periods either as days or hours of availability or unavailability.

  • Review client documentation subject to the support workers access rights as determined on the client profile within the Brevity Core application

  • Review organisational documentation.

  • Register an incident that occurred on shift.

  • Update the password used to access the mobile application.

  • Attach images and files to a client shift

Client features

The Brevity Care mobile app available to the client is configured with different function that allows the client to:

  • See the particulars of their Service Schedule.

  • Request a new service.

  • Review their category budgets if they are plan managed.

  • Review and approve invoices if they are plan managed.

  • Review documents.

  • Register an incident that occurred either outside or during their scheduled service.

 


Setting up Support Worker Access

Granting your support workers with access to the Brevity Care mobile app is undertaken either through the Manage Login on the employee profile or Email Credential link. Refer to the following topics for additional information:

When  communicating this information either by  email or text message , please ensure you remind the support worker to type in their login credentials including the company code and not to copy and paste it as this can introduce spaces into  either the Username or Password, which can thus result in an invalid login.

Signing in to the Mobile App

Your support worker and client will  need to specify a username and password that has been set either by the Brevity Administrator or the software and the company code.  In the absence of all three items of information being specified the login into the Brevity application will fail. Below are the details of the icons that are located on the login screen and the associated data action.

(blue star) This field within the login screen of the Mobile app is used to register the Username.

(blue star) This field within the login screen of the Mobile app is used to register the Password.

(blue star) This field within the login screen of the Mobile app is used to register the Company name.


Problems Logging in

If there are login problems related with  either the username or password then inquiries for this information to be reset need to be directed to the organisations Brevity Admin User.  Brevity support or staff cannot change these details for the client.

 

A failed login which will alert you with an error message can result from: 

  • Username, password or company  having been either entered incorrectly or  those details are missing.

  • Password may contain spaces if it has been cut and pasted from either an email or text message, invalid or accented characters.

A failed login not related with the either the password. username or company code will not alert you with an error message but instead will present a loading icon [as shown below for an iPhone] and can result from:  

  • Issues related with  internet connectivity.

  • Mobile Device is in Offline mode.

  • Poor mobile reception.

  • Running an older version of the Brevity application on the mobile device.

  • Performance issues due to age of mobile device.

  • Performance issues due to the version of the mobile devices operating system.

  • Caching issues with the mobile device.

  • Lack of space on the mobile device.

  • Mobile device setting changes.

  • Change in mobile device permissions.

  • Issues with mobile device data.

  • Your brevity user account has been deactivated.

  • Support Worker profile has been deactivated.

  • Support worker role has been changed.

  • Database connectivity issues.

  • Data synchronisation issues and the frequency that these occur.

  • Device cache is congested with files.

  • Corrupted or faulty phone settings.

  • The Brevity app had stopped working but was not closed down.
