This page guides you through the process of enabling authentication and requesting a token to access the Brevity system.

 

Introduction

Two Factor authentication is a multi factor authentication that provides you with a secondary layer of security in addition to the username and password that comprises you login credential that is used to access the Brevity system. When enabling this feature, authentication will apply to all system users that have a login to the Brevity system.


Enabling Authentication

Authentication is managed through the organisation record. If your Brevity system is configured with multiple organisations you will need to ensure that you turn on authentication for the all organisation records. To enable authentication observe the following steps:

  1. Select the Administration > Branch menu to open the active branch record that is connected with the user login credentials.

  2. Select the magnifying glass located to left of the Organisation field to open the Find Organisation screen.

  3. From the Find Organisation screen highlight and double click the organisation record that you intended to update with a change to the authentication setting.

  4. With the selected organisation record present in the browser set the Two Factor Authentication field value located within the Organisation Details panel to YES.

  5. Select the Save button located on the ribbon bar to the update the organisation record.

 


Requesting a Validation token

Once authentication has been enabled against one or more of your organisation records, system users that have a valid login credential to the Brevity system will be able to request a validation code as part of the second step to logging in. To do this observe the following steps.

  1. Access the login screen for the Brevity system that you connect to.

  2. Input a valid username and password.

  3. Select the Log in button to (a) display the Validation Code screen and (b) send an email containing taken to the email address listed against the user profile.

  4. Input the token to complete the login process and access the Brevity system.
